How Charlotte Pays for Concrete: Five Options, Ranked

0% financing for up to 24 months is on the table. Here is where it stands against every other way to fund the project.

Every concrete project in Charlotte gets paid for one of five ways. Four of them existed before we did. The fifth — 0% financing for up to 24 months through our third-party lending partner — is the one homeowners ask us about most, so here are all five ranked, worst to first, with the honest trade-offs of each. Local Concrete Charlotte runs zero-deposit on every job, so whichever way you pay, nothing is owed until the work is finished and you have walked it.

#5 — The credit card

Fast, familiar, and the most expensive route on this list. Consumer card rates in 2026 commonly sit in the low twenties, and a concrete project is exactly the kind of balance that lingers. Carry a $7,200 driveway on a card for two years and the interest alone can approach the cost of a small walkway. The card is a fine tool for a plane ticket. It is a poor tool for concrete.

#4 — The personal loan

Better than the card, still not free. An unsecured personal loan closes fast and the rate lands wherever your credit profile puts it — but there is always a rate, and often an origination fee taken off the top before a yard of concrete is ever poured. You end up paying a lender for the privilege of paying us. It works. It just costs money to use money.

#3 — The HELOC

The classic home-improvement answer, and for six-figure renovations it earns its place. For a driveway or patio it is a heavy lift: an application process measured in weeks, closing costs, and your house standing behind the balance. Most Charlotte concrete projects are done and cured before a HELOC would have funded. Right tool, wrong size of job.

#2 — Cash

Zero interest, zero applications, zero waiting — cash is a strong second place, and plenty of our customers choose it. Its one real cost is invisible: the emptied emergency fund. Concrete is a once-in-decades purchase, and draining the account that handles a transmission or a water heater to make it happen is a trade some households feel for a year afterward. If writing the check is comfortable, write the check. If it is not comfortable, that is what first place is for.

#1 — 0% for up to 24 months

The reason this ranks first is that it keeps the only advantage cash has — no interest — and gives up the only thing cash demands, which is all of your money at once. Through our third-party lending partner, approved buyers can split a project into fixed monthly payments over as long as 24 months with no interest added. The quote you approve is the total you pay: a $12,000 stamped patio is $500 a month for 24 months, and month 24 closes the book at exactly $12,000. Approval and your exact term come from the partner, not from us — our end of the deal is that the financed price and the cash price are the same number on the same written quote.

How it fits our zero-deposit system

Local Concrete Charlotte does not take deposits. Not on the small jobs, not on the big ones. The sequence with financing in the picture: you get a written quote, the payment plan gets set up while the quote is still on the table, the crew pours, you walk the finished work — and only after that does the schedule begin. No money moves before there is concrete on the ground you have inspected. Financing changes how long you take to pay. It does not change when paying starts.

What it covers

Any of the work we do in and around Charlotte qualifies — driveways, patios, stamped and decorative work, pool decks, sidewalks and walkways, and full driveway replacements. One plan can carry a combined project, which is how a lot of driveway-plus-patio jobs end up on the schedule as a single pour instead of two seasons apart.
